Making your own Homepage
This section describes the steps to make your
own homepage with HTMgen32.
Steps to follow
Steps to follow
- Start HTMgen and define your default values in the Default Properties
dialog
- Create pages, paragraphs and links and organize your homepages
like you want it
- Create images with your favourite painting tool and copy the files
to HTMgen32's "images" directory. Then add the images to the proper
pages, paragraphs and links. (You can also download thousands of
images from WWW.).
- Create an empty directory on your harddisk (with Explorer (Win95) or
File Manager (NT)) to store the HTML files.
- Chose "Generate" on the "File" menu, type in the path to your empty
HTML directory and press the "Generate" button. By default HTMgen32
will convert all filenames to lowercase. This is becauce many WWW servers run
on UNIX boxes, and distinguish between lower and uppercase letters in the
filenames.
- Start your WWW broser and open the Index.htm file. Check that
everything is the way you want it.
- Upload all the files in your new HTML directory to your ISP (Internet
Service Provider). If you use FTP, you will probarbly want to use a 32
bit FTP client, like WS_FTP32. This is neccesary to transfere the long
filenames in Win95 and NT.
